Many unfortunate events kicked off in 2020, and the entire world is facing the toll. Celebrities, sportspeople, and other famous legends personalities have lost their lives owing to several reasons. The entertainment industry lost some notable celebrities, and these people’s absence creates a void in the fans and admirers.

The soccer legend was 60 when he breathed his last on November 25, 2020. The Argentine soccer player led his country to the 1986 World Cup Championship. The Sports Illustrated in 2019 ranked the fifty all-time top footballers; the legend came out on top, surpassing Brazilian legend Pelé. Even long after his retirement in 1997, the admirers continued to idolize him as the Golden Boy. He was well known for his jersey number 10, and this trend became synonymous with him. Currently, the country’s President declared national mourning for the significant loss to the country and the whole world.

Rishi Kapoor was an ace Bollywood star who passed away at the age of 67 in April. The actor was facing a long battle with the deadly disease leukemia. The deteriorating health conditions of the actor in 2019 saddened several faces in India and abroad. The third-generation actor, son of Raj Kapoor, was very talented and notable. The star even received the National Award for his acting as a child artist in the 1970 suit of Mera Naam Joker. The actor worked in more than ninety films in his career.

Another mishap in April was of yet another talented actor, Irrfan Khan. Irrfan Khan was an extraordinary member of Bollywood. He possessed superb acting skills and ended up as India’s face in the West.  Qualified from the National School of Drama, the actor was a common part of most television operas. In the 80s, the actor found his big break in The Warrior. His career’s steady progress gave out memorable events and performances in the Life of Pi, Piku, Maqbool, and many others. His last movie, Angrezi Medium, gave his fans an empowering message to remain positive in life, regardless of unfavorable circumstances.

The world still remembers the players’ life and legacy, and famous sportspeople pay tributes to the player for his unending services. 

John R. Lewis

John Lewis was a civil rights icon and a congressman who passed away at 80 years in July. He was the last surviving speaker in the 1963 March on Washington. The legend started his career at a very young age and was known as one of the original Freedom Riders. The legend was also notably famous for his role in the 1965 marches from Selma to Montgomery. One of the protests even left him bloodied on the Edmund Pettus bridge. However, he never got low on faith and always worked on racial justice. In 1981, Sir Lewis got elected as an at-large member for the Atlanta City Council. He was a staunch advocate for peace and equality. In 2019, Lewis announced his cancer diagnosis to the world and continued to witness several changes in American society. He was and will always act as an inspiration to generations that follows to live up to his example and fight for freedom and justice.

The world remembers all the famous personalities we lost in 2020 with great sadness and grief. The well-known figures continue to inspire their fans and other people with their tireless journey in this world, and indeed, the generations ahead will take motivation and examples to follow their cause.
